Through a sensitive approach, the project A Landscape of Encounters aimed to bring seniors more visibly into public space, far from the stereotypical or miserabilist representations too often associated with aging. Over a month, with the collaboration of the staff at the CHSLD (a nursing home in Charlevoix, Québec, Canada), a space for dialogue opened up between the residents and myself, allowing me to highlight them through this series of photographic portraits.

Believing that relational art can transform the way we connect with one another—revealing the richness of the inner landscapes each person carries—this project, created as part of the Baie-Saint-Paul International Symposium of Contemporary Art, became a precious opportunity to deepen that belief and to nurture an intergenerational dialogue rooted in tenderness and a sense of shared understanding.
